OCULAR OR EYE HERPES HERE ARE THE FACTS
My brother met a girl and shortly after they hooked up she discovered she had Ocular Herpes. He say’s he hasn’t had any sexual contact, yet, it seems as though that he wants to and likely will. Ocular herpes comes from hsv1 which in this case mostly came from some type of oral contact or contact with saliva. She wouldnt have hsv2 just because she has ocular herpes, If she does have hsv2 it would most likely be from sexual contact oral or genital. the only sure way to find out if she is infected with hsv2 is by getting tested and I have insisted my brother do so. Some more facts about Ocular herpes it is almost always hsv1. It typically is also oral too. Statistically 1 out of every 2-3 adults in the US has hsv1 orally. It’s incredibly common and most folks do have Ocular don’t get obvious cold sores to know it so testing is a good idea.
Some symptoms of Ocular or other wise known as eye herpes are Swelling around the eyes,Tearing ,Recurrent eye infections ,Irritation ,Foreign body sensation,
Eye redness, Eye sores , Watery discharge , Sensitivity to light.
Treatment for eye herpes or Ocular herpes depends on where the infection is located in the eye , iris, retina, etc. Some ocular herpes treatments could aggravate the outbreak and, therefore, should be treated on a case by case basis.
